Unauthorised constructions demolished by BBMP
DH News Service, Bangalore:
During the inspection on receipt of a public complaint on July 21, BBMP found that there was an encroachment of storm water drain to an extent of 10 feet.

Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) demolished an unauthorised building under construction by the side of a storm water drain in ward 49 of South zone.

During the inspection on receipt of a public complaint on July 21, BBMP found that there was an encroachment of storm water drain to an extent of 10 feet. The building no. 220 (old), 251-16 (new)situated on Datthatreya Street in Gavipuram Guttahalli, was owned by A G Sudhakar, who had taken license for the construction of a dwelling house with ground and first floor.

The construction of second and third floor of the building was in progress, violating the license.
Moreover, the license expired on October 18, 2006.

On July 21, a wall under construction in the building collapsed and caused water logging.  BBMP Commissioner, Dr S Subramanya, ordered the inmates of nearby houses to vacate the place immediately as the pillars constructed by the side of the storm water drain was in a state of dilapidation.
