The government will not provide any benefits including the Yashaswini scheme to those who refrain from supplying milk to co-operative societies and instead supply to private dairies, announced KOMUL managing director A S Premnath.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Prathibha Puraskar programme at Urigili village organised by Milk ProducingCo-operative society on Monday.
He requested the farmers to work for the progress of the co-operative associations. He asked them to utilise the benefits from the government to the maximum.
He said that if there is any problem in the co-operative association s, the farmers are free to discuss. He also added that KOMUL has framed many schemes for the benefits of the farmers.
Rampant
He called the private dairies as ‘cancerous’ and they are rampant at the villages and asked to strive for the development of co-operative associations, if not will have an adverse effect upon the farmers in future. He appreciated the incentives being provided to the children of milk production association.
A S Premnath said that these days, the co-operative associations are at a great loss due to the private dairies and it is the duty of the farmers to save such associations, for their own future.
He said that supply of milk to private dairies will help in the development of a single individual, whereas if they supply it to the co-operative associations then they will be helping the whole mass of farmers.
Solar facility
Farmers will be provided the solar facility if they provide quality milk which has been at present given to Urigili milk production co-operative association, he added.
KOMUL deputy manager stressed on the importance of dairy farming .
Sugatur Pragathi rural bank manager Honnappa said that if the farmers return the debts at a proper period of time then the bank will be able to provide new debts. The bank has done a great achievement this year and has given a debt of Rs 7.28 crores, he stated.

SSLC top scorer Harish, Keerthi and PUC topper Supriya were awarded. Urigili milk producing society directors Eerappa, C Narayanaswamy, Krishnappa, B Narayanaswamy, Hanumappa and others were present.
