The sleuths of DCIB arrested seven persons including three girls on charges of prostitution and possession of drugs, in a raid on a hotel in City on Wednesday. The arrested have been identified as Jayasheela, Prajwal, Vandana, Swathi Pai, Krithi, Shailesh Kotian and Vinayak Pai. A certain Vikram and Pawaj are said to be absconding.
Acting on a tip off, the DCIB sleuths led by Inspector A D Nagaraj along with the women constables raided the hotel and arrested seven persons. During the raid, about 850 grams of ganja (valued around Rs 5,000) and four mobile phones too have been seized. They have also seized a CD in which the arrested Vandana was captured nude by Jayasheela through his cell phone in the same hotel a few days ago.
The clippings was in circulation through MMS, the police said.
Arrack seized
Excise police have arrested two persons on Wednesday for illegally possessing fake spirit and arrack. Police seized 140 lts of ‘fake’ arrack after conducting a raid on an arrack shop owned by one Mohini in Derebail Konchady.
Bhaskar Poojary (29) has been arrested in this connection. Two others Vaman Shetty and Pradeep Shetty are absconding, the police said.
