The last date for filing returns of income for the year 2007-08 for salaried and non-audit business cases is July 31.
According to a press release from the Income Tax Department, return receipt counters will be kept open on July 28 from 10 am to 5 pm, for the benefit of the public.
The new Income Tax Return (ITR) forms have been prescribed for the year.
The department has planned free workshops for guiding such taxpayers in filing these returns income.
The workshops will be held on July 26 at 11 am and 4 pm at CR Building in Attavar and the income tax office in Udupi, the release added.
