Lorries collide, 2 injured
DH News Service,Kundapur:

 Two lorries collided with each other near Thallur-Jaladi at Kundapur on Wednesday evening. The drivers of both the lorries were seriously injured and were rushed to the hospital.
While one lorry belonging to Mineral Enterprises was carrying ore from Bhatkal  to Mangalore, the other was carrying coal from Kundapur to Bhatkal. The front portion of the lorry carrying ore has been completely damaged and the coal lorry fell into a field after the accident occured.
Rider killed
A rider died in an accident after being ran over by a tanker in Kundapur on Wednesday.
The mishap occured on outskirts of Kundapur on NH 17 as Suresh Bhandary (36) who was riding his scooter lost control over his vehicle owing to the damaged road.
Unable to control the vehicle, Mr Bhandary fell on the road who was soon ran over by a tanker, killing him on the spot. Sources said that Mr Bhandary was returning from N R Acharya Hospital, where his wife is working, after taking his daughter Chinnu (5) who was suffering from fever to a doctor. Chinnu who has suffered minor injuries was said to have been pushed by her father to the otherside of the road to save her life. Mr Bhandary’s wife had started working in the hospital on Tuesday only.
