Falling in love
Come Fall in Love may appear like a romantic title from a Yash Chopra film. It may seem mushy, but it has conveyed just what Rakesh Bohraa wanted to say about his store. "When the store started eight years ago, 'Come Fall in Love' was the ideal choice for a title to describe my clothes. The idea was that people come over and fall in love with the collection. While doing so, it has also created a degree of curiosity," said Bohraa, offering a tour of his women's western wear store, located in III Block Jayanagar.
To a certain extent, the title has roused people's curiosity and has resulted in walk-ins. But its biggest clientele is the IT woman. This is because even in the initial stages, Bohraa managed to foresee what the IT woman wanted in her wardrobe. That being clothes which are comfortable with an understated elegance. "For beginners, there are formal collar shirts, co-ordinate with a large collection of trousers, designed to flatter the figure. The accent is on the slim fit," he added.
Full marks to the trousers, which include an assortment of imported ones. Most of them are of the stretch variety, but the weight of the fabric, treatment and approach to styling, distinguishes one from the other. This explains the presence of synthetic trousers, along with stretch versions of corduroy, denim, linen and cotton. Bohraa himself has conceptualised a line of trousers, which combine a comfort fit with a tapered look.
These are joined by formal and casual tops. Lined and unlined blazers also form part of the offer.
Come Fall in Love's biggest attraction is its variety of clothes, which could fit the pre-teen girl to the 40-plus woman, the range varies from extra small to triple XL. Bohraa's winning point is his ability to scout for manufacturers. In the process, he has hit upon manufacturers who use imported material to tailor clothes for the Indian sizes.
Though Bohraa has a hands-on experience, the store happened by accident. It began as a small investment venture with his friends, after which he took over the reins.
