Drain blockage
I would like to bring to your notice two important things on New BEL Road. Yesterday's BWSSB claim in our newspaper regarding their readiness for the rain will come to shambles if your photographer takes a picture of the work being carried out on the drain passing under New BEL road bridge.
The whole drain is blocked with construction material and this has been so for a long time. Moreover, huge indiscriminate dumping of waste mud and bricks on the east side of the approach road towards the bridge close to the drain from M.S.Ramaiah Hospital side going on for many months, have missed the authorities’ eyes.
The huge mounds being daily dumped will definitely flow into the drain during the rains, making the silt removing contractor's purse huge.
I would also like to point out white paint markings missing on all humps on New BEL road. This with the Sadashivnagar Traffic police station right on this road. Is the traffic police waiting for somebody to die on these humps before it takes up painting. Please take up these issues on priority.

BMTC bus woes
The travellers of BMTC buses daily witness that when a bus stops, passengers jostle and push to enter the bus. A weak person cannot even think about it. Youngsters occupy all the seats. The weak and the elderly passengers are pushed around.
The youngsters sit in the ladies seats and do not have human considerations for the weak and elders. There is no space even to stand. While the BMTC buses are earning good profit, government should take steps to provide more ordinary buses for all destinations instead of buying luxury Volvo buses.

Pathetic footpath
The stretch of footpath between the junction of Upper Pipeline and RMS office in 1st Main, Seshadripuram is in a bad shape with uneven stone slabs and potholes, causing falls to several a people while walking. This has been brought to the notice of the local BBMP authorities on several occasions and also to the elected representatives, but all in vain.
Further, a stretch of road was widened at the junction of Link Road, Seshadripuram, while installing traffic signals about one year ago. The widened road has not been asphalted, as a result of which, short stones are protruding and causing inconvenience to motorists.
I request the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to relaying the footpath and asphalting the small stretch of widened road.
