The strike by pourakarmikas in the City for the past 11 days has resulted in accumulation of garbage and the stink is unbearable.
Roads are littered with garbage and the drains are over flowing.
People are forced to cover their face while crossing market place as the waste vegetables dumped are rotting and stinking.
The stink from the public toilets at the old bus stand has it impossible for people to stay anywhere near the area.
Though it is claimed that drinking water is being supplied, in several areas the water shortage is hit badly.
The Jakkalamadagu dam water pipe is also under repair adding to the crisis.  Water supplied in tankers is insufficient to the large City and the public’s patience is losing out as days are passing.
