Hike in fee opposed
DH News Service,Tumkur:

PU College Principal’s Association has demanded for reduction in annual recognition renewal fee. The PU college have to now pay 300 per cent fee annually, which was Just Rs 100 till 1991-92 and Rs 500 till 2000. Suddenly it was increased to Rs 1,000 in 2000 and to Rs 4,000 in 2005.
This year, to make the situation worse, this has been increased to Rs 10,000.
The increase in fee has become burden on the colleges in rural areas, said President Yatiraju in a press release.  The poor rural students will have to bear the brunt and hence, the government should withdraw the hike. He has appealed to the MLCs representing teachers and graduates should consider the issues seriously.
