MUSIC
Percussive festival
Percussive Arts Centre is organising Thallavaadyotsava-2007, its 26th annual percussive arts festival at Seva Sadana, 14th Cross, Malleswaram from July 26 to 29. The following are the list of some of the programmes: Sthree Thall Tharang presents Laya raaga sangamam (July 27, 6 pm), vocal by Mysore Nagamani Srinath (July 27, 7 pm); Laya Vinyasa on the mridangam by K U Jayachandra Rao (July 28, 5.30 pm), Laya Vinyasa on the mridangam by Mavelikara K Velukutty Nair (July 28, 6 pm) and vocal duet by Hyderabad brothers (July 28, 6.30 pm); performance by percussion ensemble of Percussive Arts Centre directed by Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma (July 29, 10 am).

Vocal, flute
Vamshi Academy of Music Trust and Guruskool Music is presenting a concert under its Temple bells concert series on July 29 from 5 pm onwards at Hanumagiri Kshetra, Sri Raghavendraswamy Vrundavana, AGs Colony, Arehalli, banashankari 2nd stage. The artiste for the concert are M K Tejaswini (vocal) and flute duet by B K Anantha Ram and Amith A Nadig.

Hindustani vocal
A Hindustani classical vocal recital by K S Vaishali is being organised on July 30 between 8 pm and 10 pm at Bugle Rock Kamat Hotel on Bull Temple Road.

Instrumental music
BTM Cultural Academy is organising an instrumental concert on July 28 at 5.30 pm at Ramana maharshi Academy for the Blind, 3rd Cross, 3rd Phase, J P Nagar (Near Ragigudda). The following artistes are participating: D Balakrishna, L V Mukund, Nalina Mohan, B K Chandramouli, B S Manjunath, Karthik S Mani, G Guruprasanna, S N Marayana Murthy, N Amrith Kumar and Harsha Samaga.

Musical Concert
Hi-Trend Carzone presents “Naada Spandana”, a music concert by Veena Varuni and party as a celebration of their first anniversary on July 28 at 6 pm, at H N Kalakshetra, National College, 7th block, Jayanagar.

Violin Solo
Rajamahal Vilas Sangeetha Sabha is organising a music concert at Raghothaman Memorial Building, Sanjaynagar, RMV ext. 2nd stage on July 29 at 5.30 pm by Vidwan C N Chandrashekar (violin solo), Swathy Chandrashekar (violin support), C Cheluvaraju (mrudangam), N Amrith (khanjari).

Vocal Concert
Vijaya College Of Music is presenting ‘Ganavahini’ at the Vijaya College premises on July 28, from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Vidwan Pavandeep is giving a vocal recital accompanied by Vidwan S Seshagiri Rao (violin), Vidwan A V Anand (mridanga).


DANCE
Rangopasana
Kalpataru Kalavihar is presenting the Bharatanatya Rangopasana of Shreya, disciple of Padmaja Suresh on July 29 at 6 pm at The Bangalore Gayana Samaja, K R Road.

Rangapravesha
The Bharatanatya Rangapravesha of Lavanya, disciple of Srividya Anand of Sri Nrityalaya will be held on July 29 at 6 pm at ADA Rangamandira, J C Road.


ART
Painting show
Gallery G is organising the second solo show of Nithin Nangare, a collection of paintings titled, “Faces, forces, forms” from July 20 to July 30 at Gallery G, Maini Sadan, 38 Lavelle Road, 7th Cross.

Solo exhibition
Prabhu Harsoor, a lecturer in Ravindra Kalaniketan School of Art, Tumkur has organised a solo exhibition of his paintings titled, “In search of human roots” from July 24 to July 30 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.

Group show
Mahua Art Gallery is organising “Roots and Shoots” - an exploration of contemporary Indian art (a group show of paintings and sculptures) from July 27 to 31, 7 pm to 9 pm at the Gallery premises located at C11, Level C, Leela Galleria, Leela Palace, Airport Road.

Art Exhibition
Ganges-eternal art is holding an exhibition of paintings and drawings by 23 artists from Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.

The exhibition is on from August 1 to 7. The inauguration of the exhibition will be done by Mrs Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam at 4 pm on August 1.

Fun hour

Poetry Recital
Blessing Foundation Charitable Trust presents Urdu poet, composer and singer Haamid Baaqari’s “Tere Hoton Pe”, a solo urdu recital show on July 28,  6.30 pm onwards at Yavanika Auditorium, State Youth Centre, Nrupathunga Road.

Painting competition
The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare is organising a on the spot paiting competition for school children on July 28 from 2.00 to 4.00 pm in five zones- Chamarajpet, Indiranagar, Jayamahal,  Malleswaram and RT Nagar.
