Jayangar police have arrested four persons on charges of hatching a conspiracy to rob innocent citizens recently and recovered jewellery, electronic gadgets, two mobile phones, all valued at Rs 1.45 lakh.
Acting on a tip off, the police arrested Nagaraj (25), Kaleem (23), Seena (23), all residents of Puttayyanapalya and Rajesh (19), Thyagarajnagar, in Jayanagar 5th Block when they were planning to rob innocent citizens.
Robbed of valuables
An unidentified person robbed another person of his valuables on Thursday night in Adugodi police limits. According to the police, the robber came on a bike and threatened Saravan with a knife and took away his mobile and gold ornaments.
Motorist killed
A motorist was killed and another sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two bikes on Thursday night in Yeswanthpur traffic police limits. Venkateshappa, a resident of Bahubalinagar, was killed and Nagaraj (35), a resident of Bandeppa Garden, was injured.
According to the police, the mishap occurred in Bahubalinagar. Nagaraj, who was coming in full speed from opposite direction, suddenly rammed into the bike that Venkateshappa was riding. Venkateshappa sustained multiple injuries and was immediately admitted to a private hospital. However, he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed. Rash driving on part of Nagaraj is stated to be reason. Nagaraj, who has been admitted to a private hospital, is recovering, added the police.
Realtor robbed
Three unidentified persons robbed a realtor of his valuables, bike and hard cash, all valued at Rs 2.5 lakh on Thursday night in Yelahanka police station limits.
According to the police, the incident took place in front of Jakkur Aerodrome on Bellary Road when the victim, Manjunath, a resident of Thanisandra, was returning home on his bike. Three unidentified persons, who came on a bike, accosted Manjunath and threatened him with knives. They snatched his bag containing Rs 2 lakh hard cash, gold chain, mobile phone and key of his bike. While the two accused drove their bike and absconded, another accused absconded riding on Manjunath’s bike. Search is on to arrest the accused, the police added.
Smashed to death
A 65-year-old person was smashed to death by an unidentified person in Kalasipalya police station limits on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Syed Nawab. According to the police, Nawab, a beggar, had the habit of abusing all with foul language. Someone smashed his head with a stone in Bamboo Bazar on Thursday night, killing Nawab on the spot. The incident came to light on Friday morning, the police added.
