She said, the girl had to appear for an examination in a college near Anekal and she with her father boarded a BMTC bus at Silk Board and alighted at the Chandapur bus stop. Later, the girl caught another bus for Anekal.
On the way, the conductor demanded Rs 11 for ticket and the girl gave him a currency note of Rs 100. As the girl was to get the remaining amount, the conductor told her that he would give her at the last stoppage.
Nesargi said, as the bus reached the last stop, all the other passengers alighted. When the girl demanded the remaining amount, the driver and conductor said that they would pay her the remaining amount after going to some distance because then they would get the change from any paan shop.
The girl trusted their words and agreed to go in the bus up to the nearby paan shop, said Nesargi. On the way the driver and conductor allegedly misbehaved with the girl. Mustering courage, the girl jumped out of the running bus and was injured. With injuries, the girl appeared for the exam.
Nesargi said, she had ordered inquiry into the case and asked the BMTC officials to investigate the matter. Following her instruction, the BMTC officials too ordered a departmental enquiry into the case. The BMTC officials are trying to find out the driver and conductor who attacked the girl’s modesty.
