All the political parties and various organisations in Kalasa have decided to extend their support to the bundh call given by the Malnad Shanthi Vedike in protest against the Naxalites on July 31.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Gram Panchayat hall on Friday.
The meeting decided to create an awareness against the Naxalites by holding a bundh.
All the business establishments will remain closed on July 31.
 Buses and other private vehicles will remain off the road. It has decided to close down schools, colleges and offices on that day.
It has been also decided to hold dialogues with the Naxal sympathisers and seek their opinion soon. Shri Kshethra Horanadu’s G Ramanarayana Joshi, Zilla Panchayat members Sandeep, Ashalatha D Jain, Taluk Panchayat member Manjappaiah, Congress leader Mahabaleshwara Shastri, K C Dharanendra, Harsha among others were present.
In a separate press release Kalasa Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) unit has extended its support to the proposed bundh on July 31.
