The civic workers who have been staging a relay protest since the last 11 days demanding fulfilment of various demands, staged a road blockade on the National Highway after taking out a procession in the city.
The paurakarmikas who had put forth various demands including the implementation of the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission, complained that the government has been neglecting their demands.
In the meantime, an effort was made to snub the protests through imposing ESMA, which should not be allowed, they said.

They attracted the attention of the public with slogan shouting during the procession and later staged a road blockade on the National Highway for over 10 minutes.
Following this, they reached the municipal office passing through Deputy Commissioner’s office, Ajjarkad Ground and the Court.
