Oil India's Manav Das pipped Ajeetesh Sandhu in a sudden death play-off to clinch the Noida Open Amateur Golf championship here at the par-72 Noida Golf Club on Friday.
Das parred the play-off hole to clinch the tie after both were locked at 297 in regulation play. The event, managed by Tiger Sports Marketing, formed the fourth leg of the LG Indian Amateur Golf Tour.
DGC's Saurabh Bahuguna returned the day's best card of level par 72 to share the third place with Fatehbir Dhaliwal at 300. Dhaliwal shot a 76 in the final round. Oil India's Simarjeet Singh finished fifth with a cumulative score of 302 courtesy a final round 78 while Indian Oil's Gagan Verma was a further two-stroke behind in sixth place after carding a final round 73.
Sri Lankan Mithun Perera shot 73 to finish seventh at 305.
Das started steadily with four pars before he birdied the par-3 fifth. However, a double bogey on the eighth saw him make the turn at one over. On the back nine, Das double-bogeyed the 10th but recovered well to fire birdies on the 14th and 16th to finish at one over 73.
