A physically challenged person attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner here on Friday.
Narasappa (28), from Gutte village of Kodigenahalli in Madhugiri taluk tried to end his life by drinking Metacid, a pesticide, demanding job.
He was rushed to the government hospital for treatment and later shifted to Bangalore for further treatment. Several physically challenged persons, including Narasappa, were protesting in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office from morning demanding employment.
They had submitted a memorandum to the officials, who promised them to highlight their problems to the Government. But, not satisfied with the assurance Narasappa suddenly consumed pesticide, according to witnesses.
