Withdrawal of circular on land
Leaders welcome govt move
DH News Service, Madikeri:
Former minister M C Nanaiah said it was a welcome move of the State government to withdraw the controversial circulars regarding jamma bane land in Kodagu, owing to the powerful struggle and public opinion.

Leaders belonging to various political parties have welcomed the move of the State government to withdraw the circulars regarding jamma bane land in Kodagu. and termed the initiative as a victory to their struggle.

Sharing his relief with Deccan Herald, former minister M C Nanaiah said it was a welcome move of the State government to withdraw the controversial circulars, owing to the powerful struggle and public opinion.

Any circular causing more problems for people should not be issued not only in Kodagu but also in other districts.
The adamant attitude of the government made people to fight for three years for such an initiative, he observed.

Mr Nanaiah also urged the government to take suitable actions against the Principal Secretary of Revenue Department S M Jamadar and Conservator of Forests Venkatasubbaiah for violating the rights of the public.

Somwarpet MLA B A Jeevijaya said he would congratulate the people for their united struggle in conserving their fundamental rights.

Madikeri MLA K G Bopaiah said it was “historical” that all members of the Legislative Assembly responded positively to the call of the Kodagu and supported their demand. Former MLA  A K Subbaiah explained the development as “the victory of people’s power in Kodagu”.
