The Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Catholic Board of Education (CBE) of the Diocese of Mangalore was formally inaugurated on Thursday at the Bishop House in Kodialbail.

Simultaneously, it was inaugurated in all the educational institutions under the Board across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts. Bishop of Mangalore and President of CBE Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza declared open the celebrations by lighting a lamp at the function held at Bishop House. He also inaugurated the Konkani Bible website http://www.konkanibible.org on the occasion.

In his introductory address, Vice President of CBE and Vicar General of Mangalore diocese Fr Denis Prabhu said that the CBE was established in 1932. A fund for the higher education of poor students and health cards to all the CBE staff have been introduced as part of the jubilee celebrations.

CBE Secretary Fr Wilson V D’Souza, former secretary Fr Cyril D’Souza, Episcopal Vicar Fr Baptist Menezes,  and  others were present on the occasion. The valedictory of the celebrations will be held on December 4 at Milagres Junior College grounds.
