Sayali edges past Jacqueline, enters last four

Sayali Malgave defeated Jacqueline Kunnath 21-18, 21-7 to enter the girls under-19 semifinals of the Reynolds Chemequip State-ranking badminton tournament here on Sunday.
Jacqueline, though stayed in contention in the under-16 category, where she made the quarters with a 21-4, 21-4 verdict over Mrunal Deshpande.  Ankita Ashok, Apoorva Jagdale and Monisha Vinayak joined Sayali in the under-19 semifinals.   
Easy win
Ankita posted an easy 21-4, 21-9 win over Pooja Anvekar while Apoorva got post Anagha Unni 21-16, 21-18. Monisha knocked out Uttara Prakash 21-9, 21-15.
Meanwhile, Abhishek S defeated Nikhil Sriram to enter the last four stage in the boys (U-10) category.
Abhishek took the first game   21-9 before winning the second 21-14 to book a place in the last four.
Also joining him in the last four stage are Sachin Patil, Akash V Anvekar and  M Raghu.
Results: Boys: Under-10 (quarterfinals): Abhishek S bt Nikhil Sriram 21-9, 21-14; Sachin Patil bt Sagar Saunshi 21-7, 21-13; Akash V Anvekar bt Linganand J 21-17, 21-15; M Raghu bt Manish Beladavar 21-6, 21-7.
Girls: Under-19 (quarterfinals): Ankita Ashok bt Pooja V Anvekar 21-4, 21-9; Apoorva Jagdale bt Anagha Unni 21-16, 21-18; Sayali Malgave bt Jacqueline Kunnath 21-18, 21-7; Monisha Vinayak bt Uttara Prakash 21-9, 21-15.
