Feels good to contribute to teams cause, says Ganguly
DH News Service, Nottingham:
After making a fine fifty on the third day of the second Test match here, Sourav Ganguly said he was happy to contribute to the team's cause.

"I think I batted well, and we needed a partnership in the morning,” he said of his association in the first session with Sachin Tendulkar, when England failed to take a wicket in two hours. “We had to get through the second new ball in the first session.
“We knew that if we could put runs on the board, we can win this game. It feels good to contribute in that regard," Ganguly said.
The former Indian captain added that he did not want to comment on the poor decision made by Australian umpire Simon Taufel which resulted in his dismissal.
"I do not want to talk about the decision. I was disappointed when I came back into the dressing room. Some decisions go your way, some go the other way, that is the way it is," he said.
No specific targets
On the day's proceedings, he observed, “We did not set any targets in the morning, it was the third morning of the Test match and we needed to bat on and we did it. 480 is a good total and we are some 280 ahead.
“Tomorrow's morning session will be crucial. The wicket is going to deteriorate as well. All our bowlers are going to be crucial."
On the exchange of words between Kevin Pietersen and Zaheer Khan, Ganguly said, “It does get intense in Test cricket, it’s happened in the past as well. It happens when both the teams are competing to win, I am sure it is going to happen in the future as well.
“I have not seen anything that I will say will sour the series. It is been a hard-fought series thus far.”
