“We knew that if we could put runs on the board, we can win this game. It feels good to contribute in that regard," Ganguly said.

No specific targets
On the day's proceedings, he observed, “We did not set any targets in the morning, it was the third morning of the Test match and we needed to bat on and we did it. 480 is a good total and we are some 280 ahead.
“Tomorrow's morning session will be crucial. The wicket is going to deteriorate as well. All our bowlers are going to be crucial."
On the exchange of words between Kevin Pietersen and Zaheer Khan, Ganguly said, “It does get intense in Test cricket, it’s happened in the past as well. It happens when both the teams are competing to win, I am sure it is going to happen in the future as well.
“I have not seen anything that I will say will sour the series. It is been a hard-fought series thus far.”
