DH News Service, Bangalore:
Ramamurthynagar police arrested Muthu Kumaran , a resident of Pondicherry, and Shivaram Mahapatra , of T C Palya on charges of possessing cocaine.

Ramamurthynagar police arrested two persons on charges of possessing cocaine and recovered 570 gm of cocaine, a mobile phone and a car.

The two are: Muthu Kumaran (26), a resident of Pondicherry, and Shivaram Mahapatra (19), of T C Palya.
According to the police, Kumaran used to get cocaine from Charles. He contacted his friend, Shivaram, and learnt cocaine could be sold at a higher price in Bangalore.

They both took up a room at Srinivasanagar in Hoskote on rent and planned to sell cocaine in the busy areas, near educational institutions and snooker parlours.

They came to Bangalore and were trying to collect details on customers. On a tip-off, police arrested them at OMBR Layout. They have been remanded to judicial custody.

Held for murder bid

Adugodi police arrested a 26-year-old rowdy-sheeter who had tried to set a woman ablaze. He has been identified as Manju alias BTS Manja.

Manju was in love with S Nandini (22), a resident of Temple Street. Nandini started avoiding him after she learnt about his background.

She also refused to marry him. Enraged, he tried to set her ablaze on July 25 at her residence. Nandini was rushed to a nearby hospital.
