The excise department has found that vested interests are selling Chloro Hydrate mixture as neera in the name of raitha sanghas at several places, following the state wide ban on sale of arrack enforced from July 1.
The drink contains Chloro Hydrate laced with several other hazardous components. Consumption of the drink might leave the person blind or even prove fatal.

Deputy Commissioner of Excise K Bheemappa has thus warned people against the consumption of the same.
