The High Court on Monday stayed the derecognition of three schools in Bangalore, teaching in English medium after obtaining No Objection Certificate(NOC)s from the State Government for shifting to CBSE and ICSE syllabus.
The petitions filed by Chinmaya Vidyalaya of Koramangala and Sree Bharati Vidyalaya of Vijayanagar stated that they had obtained State Government NOC to affilitie to ICSE and their applications for affiliation was pending. They had shifted to English medium with an object to follow ICSE pattern of education and were also teaching Kannada as one compulsory subject, they stated.
Another petition by Glitzy Public School, Konankunte stated that it had got affiliation to CBSE after obtaining NOC from the State Government.
It said that it was teaching in Enlgish medium while keeping Kannada as a compulsory subject according to CBSE norms. The court stayed the derecognition orders passed in respect of these three schools, while seeking counter statements from state education authorities, within four weeks.
