Nemmadi Kendras have been opened in all hobali centres in the State, through which rural people can fulfil their necessities by using the single window system, said State Revenue Minister Jagadish Shetter.
He was speaking after laying foundation stone to the mini vidhana soudha to be constructed for Sullia taluk on Tuesday. He said corruption would be curbed effectively through bringing about changes in the administration of all departments.
Mr Shetter, who also handed over title deeds to several people, said the idea behind mini vidhana soudhas at each taluk centre was to see that the common men could get their works done at a single place without much delay and strain.
As all taluk level offices come together in this mini vidhana soudha, the common men need not travel all the way to towns for all of his needs. Rs 2 crore each has been released to 18 taluks for constructing mini vidhana soudhas.
He congratulated the committee that was responsible for distributing 638 title deeds at a time, as the first instance in the entire State.
The government has been giving loans at 4 per cent to the farmers through co-operative banks. The central government too should take the initiative of providing loans at 4 per cent to farmers through nationalised banks also, he observed.
People have surprised at the large number of development works taken up across the State in the past 16 months. Good administration by a good government has become true, he stated.
Mr Shetter said Rs 5 crore had been released for Dakshina Kannada as rain relief and the government was ready to release any further money on requirement. MLA S Angara presided. District In-Charge Minister B Nagaraj Shetty, Sullia TP President Suvarnini, Vice-President Harish Kanjipili, ZP Member Venkat Dambekodi, Bhageerathi, Puttur Assistant Commissioner Vasanthakumar and others were present.
