Bihar bride refuses to marry ugly groom
Patna, ians:

In an unusual incident, a groom had to return without getting married in a Bihar village after the bride refused to marry him, for his “ugly” looks.
Sarita Kumari, a resident of a village in Samastipur district, 70 km from here, stunned all when she refused to marry Jilajit Sharma, maintaining that he was ugly  after she discovered that he was ugly and not a proper match for her age-wise, local reports said on Tuesday.
Humiliation
But the humiliation did not end there for Sharma, as the girl's parents held him hostage for two days, demanding that the amount that they had spent on organising the marriage should be reimbursed. The groom was freed with the intervention of some influential local people later, police said.
Sharma said that Sarita rejected him saying “he was too thin and appears ugly”.
Sarita alleged that Sharma was not the groom his parents had presented before her family earlier.
“He does not qualify as my life partner,” she said.
In another case this week, Rajni Kumari of Bhukhal Chapar village in Gopalganj district, refused to marry Bhola Prasad, when she discovered that he was too dark.
In rural Bihar, hundreds of marriages are taking place in the current traditional marriage season known as “Lagan”.
