Changes In Soviet, A Healthy Move
London, July 4.
Mr Jawaharlal Nehru, today described the changes in the Soviet Union as “a move in a healthy direction.” He told a press conference here the changes - the dismissal of members of the Communist Party Presidium - probably indicated “a process which has been going on for some time past.” He added: “We see in them if I may say so, a progressive return of normality and that is a move in a healthy direction.”
World Reds Welcome Shake-Up
London, July 4.
The announcement last night of the dismissal of the four Soviet leaders look most capitals of the world by surprise.Many Western statesmen said they thought the Soviet leadership shake-up would usher in a new era of improved East-West relations. President Eisenhower was reported to have an advanced indication of the chnages.

Israel Firm On Total PLO Pull-Out
Jerusalem, July 4.
Israel said today it totally rejected any plan to evacuate trapped Palestinian guerillas from Beirut which allowed the guerillas to retain any presence in Lebanon. The statement, issued after a Cabinet meeting, came as Israel stepped up military pressure on the besteged Palistinian strongholds. But Opposition leader Shimon Peres said he believed there was a “fair chance” for it.
