BDAs hi-rises will lay low your independence dreams  
Now it is a (distant?) dream to get an independent house through the public housing system in the City, what with Bangalore Development Authoritys Master Plan 2015 proposing vertical growth of the housing sector in the capital.
Fatal fall for bike rider  
A two-wheeler rider died after his motorbike skid and fell into Ulsoor lake. Jitendra Kumar (22), a resident of Chikpet, was on his way home when his bike skidded near a parapet wall of the lake.
Women at HC have a grievance to air!  
It is but natural that the Karnataka High Court attracts hundreds of women litigants/visitors -- let alone the almost 500 women staffers and 300-plus advocates on any given working day. But all these women a total of 1000, mind have apparently be-en given short shrift by the maintenance division of the court.
HC upholds govt fiat on Kannada  
The High Court on Thursday upheld the State government notification compelling the out-of-state migrant students to study Kannada as one compulsory subject in State Syllabus High Schools, while dismissing a petition by two students.
Notice to MLA over sale deed  
The Third Additional Consu-mer Forum (Bangalore Urban) on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to Channapatna MLA C P Yogeeshwar and his brother C P Gangadhareshwar for non-execution of a sale deed of a property in Vajragiri Township. This is a pending project promoted by the MLA.
