India’s ‘Station of the Year’ Radio City 91.1 FM turns 6 with six successful years of entertainment. The milestone was celebrated with an evening of revelry at The Park.

This comes in quick succession to the stations clean-sweep of the most coveted station of the year and RJ of the year (Hindi and English) award at the India radio forum 2007 held earlier this month in Mumbai.

RJ Vasanthi won the best RJ in English, and RJ Love Guru won the award for the best RJ of the year in Hindi for the year 2007 respectively. And Radio City 91.1 FM won the award for the best radio station of the year.

The whole staff of Radio City were asked to come forward to receive the award. Kannada Cine-Star Vishnuvardhan gave away the awards to the RJs. Apurva Purohit, CEO of Radio City 91.1 FM was also present in the award presenting ceremony.

Expressing the joy of winning the award Vasanthi said “This is an insight of my life and for Radio City, moreover receiving the award from the great actor Vishunuvardhan made it truly different”. She  thanked all the people who supported her to obtain this level.

Love Guru also expressed his joy saying “He had lots of love letters with him which he wanted to present it to the people but considering that he did not want to scare them he left it back in his room itself.” He even quoted that “for a RJ an active mind is required and not scripts”.

DJ Deepak who’s the resident DJ of The Park, and DJ Akshay Radio City’s in house DJ was keeping the crowd entertained with the music they played.

To add on to this a well known band “Aurko” started their performance with few classical track which was mind-soothing and few fast tracks which was rocking. Among those who were present were music director Guru Kiran
