Five members of the Legislative Council, whose term ended last month, were given farewell at a function organised at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday.
Dr L Hanumanthaiah, B A Hasanabba, Umashree and M D Ramesh Raju, Prabhakar B Kore, all Congress nominated members, completed their term on June 30. Mr Kore could not attend the function as he was away from the City.
Speaking on the occasion, Umashree said the post of MLC, along with her acting career, gave her a new experience, besides giving an opportunity to associate with top ranking politicians.
Council Chairman B K Chandrashekar and Floor Leader and Minister D H Shankaramurthy lauded the five members for espousing the cause of people.
