Just a day after Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa promised that  water will not be released to Tamil Nadu from KRS, sources in the irrigation department have disclosed that the state was already releasing water to the neighbouring state.

   As the water level had almost reached maximum level in Kabini, all the four gates were opened four days ago. The inflow was 32,366 cusec while the outflow was maintained at  30,270 cusec. Officers said out flow will be reduced to 20,000 cusec after 11 pm on Thursday.
