A section of medical students have petitioned Governor T N Chaturvedi, urging him to direct Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to continue with the present scheme of providing photocopies of answerscripts.
In their letter to the Governor, who is also the chancellor of all universities in the State, the students have objected to the varsity proposal to discontinue the provision of providing photocopies of answerscripts to students. RGUHS had proposed to revive its 1999 ordinance, whereby there would be double valuation of answerscripts of all examinations conducted by the university.
Contention
However, there would be no provision for paper seeing or seeking photocopy of the answerscripts.
The varsity had contended that as the answer sheets would be scrutinised more than once under the double valuation system, providing photocopies of the answerscripts was not necessary.
Doubts
However, the students have enclosed a recent letter written by RGUHS Registrar to principals of all colleges, wherein the registrar has expressed doubts about the feasibility of double valuation system. “When the registrar himself has accepted the reality of double valuation, it will be a wrong step on the part of RGUHS to discontinue providing photocopies”, the students said.
