Police and excise officials have cracked down on the illegal sale of arrack in Haveri district after the State-wide arrack ban. A man named Deepak Maruti Kalal was arrested at Gugikatti in Haveri City and 235 sachets of arrack were recovered from him.
Excise officials seized about 750 arrack sachets hidden in three gunny bags in Choudeshwari extension in Ranebennur on Wednesday.
Police are searching for the accused.
