Six-year-old boy, Suraj Banjara, who fell into the borewell on Wednesday, was declared dead by doctors after being rushed to Jaykay Lone hospital in Jaipur.
Suraj was extricated from the borewell at 8.45 pm. After the news of Suraj’s death, the state government announced Rs 2 lakh compensation to his family.
Earlier in the day, Army and civil administration undertook a new approach to rescue the six-year-old boy trapped in a 150-foot borewell by digging a parallel but bigger boring to rescue the child.
A boring machine was deployed to make a parallel boring to make way for a person to reach the trapped boy, an official said.
