The Bangalore University, on Saturday, gave its nod for four five-year integrated post-graduation courses, which can be taken up soon after the PU education.
The BU Academic Council had given its approval for the courses last month. Addressing reporters about the decision taken during the BU Syndicate meeting at the Central College, the Registrar of the university Sanjay Veer Singh said, the four courses are MSc in Biological Science, MSc in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, MA in Social Sciences and MA in Business Studies. In addition to it, the BU will offer Master’s degree in Tourism and Administration. The admissions to the integrated courses will be given on the basis of the PU marks.
The BU also launched an advanced course for the pilots with experience of 1000 hours flight. The MSc course is Applied Flight Dynamics, which would be taught at the Airforce Test Pilot School at Yamalur. This is only for the pilots of Armed Forces. Bangalore is the second place in India, after Pune, which is offering this course for the pilots of armed forces, the registrar said.
Looking into the demands of evaluators, the BU increased the evaluation fee from Rs 10 to Rs 12. This hike is only for those teachers who are working in an unaided school and are not getting UGC scale, he said.
