Bourbon King, trained by S Ganapathy and to be ridden by B Prakash, is fancied to land the riches at the Kingfisher Derby Bangalore, the plum event of the races here on Sunday. 
The main challenge for Bourbon King should come from Alvarita, the Imtiaz Sait-trained filly, to be piloted by C Alford.
Bourbon King has had a good season, coming up with impressive performances in Mumbai and later winning the Colts Trial Stakes in Bangalore.
In Mumbai, he also had a victory over Alvarita.
Alvarita, on the other hand, triumphed in the Fillies’ Trial Stakes in Bangalore, and should fancy her chances in the 2000-metre trip.
