Live in coherence with nature, says Mahishi
Bangalore, DHNS:
"We often go against the nature thinking it to be fashion. It is necessary to educate ourself on being simple," Chief Secretary P B Mahishi said.

Chief Secretary P B Mahishi, on Saturday, opined that man should lead his life in coherence with nature.

“We often go against the nature thinking it to be fashion. It is necessary to educate ourself on being simple,” he said after inaugurating two-day conference on sustainable living organised by Centre for Green Building Materials and Technology (CGBMT) in Bangalore.

Mr Mahishi said most of the people never expose themselves to the Sun. They live in air-conditioned house, drive in air-conditioned cars to work place, which again is air-conditioned. As they lose contact with nature, their body gradually stops responding to changes in climate, he said.

Prof Ravindra Bhan, well-known architect, speaking on the occasion said that conservation of nature has been viewed as anti-development. “But development would not be rational unless necessary attention is laid on conserving the nature. Moreover, one should invest funds on conservation of nature and that will be investment for our better future,” he said.

Mr Mahishi launched distance education programme on bamboo technology offered by CGBMT. Building applications of bamboo will be taught in the programme. Minimum qualification for course is SSLC. For details call: 080-22291951.
