Investigation agencies and the college authorities are verifying the documents submitted by Kafeel Ahmed while getting admission into UBDT Engineering college.
Several questions are being asked even as it was learnt that Kafeel’s grandmother was from Pakistan and the Glasgow bomb case suspect had his primary and secondary education in Saudi Arabia.
His primary and secondary education details are not available with UBDT college. He had studied PUC in National College, Bangalore and scored 443 (73.83 per cent). Interestingly, the marks card does not carry his signature.
The police suspect that Kafeel might have given a fake address while gaining admission. As if to support the suspicion, he has made changes in the address submitted to the institution.
All copies of his certificates are attested by Dr Iftikarvuddin, MD (OSM), a professor at Unani Medical college, Bangalore. Even in the certificate he has obtained from National college, his date of birth is recorded as January 14, 1979.
The engineering college principal is surprised as how his religion was recorded as Hindu. He felt that it could be a mistake of the staff.
The then principal Dr Prabhswamy, who had admitted Kafeel, told Deccan Herald that he does not remember his face.
When questioned about the possibility of documents submitted by the boy being fake, he only said “ we only examine CET hall ticket. The rest of the documents will already be examined by CET cell”.
