Official apathy leaves residents in lurch
DH News Service,Mandya:

The residents of Kempegowda street in old city and surrounding extensions are facing a new kind of problem from the past one week. And it is a problem which has to be suffered inevitably!
With this a problem which was till now seen only in the rural areas has found its way in to the heart of a city which is very near to the highway.
This is a problem of toilets! Most of the houses in the extension have no toilet facility.
The public toilet on Kempegowda street was the only place  for them to answer the nature’s call.
The problem has intensified as some people have pulled down the toilets a week ago. But, niether men, women nor children of the area know as to whose handiwork was it!
“They have demolished it when we were watching serials, would we leave them had we known it while happening?”, people question. Now, the issue has landed up at the police station.
An appeal has been made to the local MLA M Srinivas who has assured to get the toilets constructed soon. Residents Gopi and Nagaragu rue, “Our houses are very small, how can we construct toiltes, we were using them for several years, now some people have demolished it, now where should we go”.
Despite all this, the officer concerned have not come forward to construct the toiltes. Will they atleast now?
