State government has released an additional Rs 10.75 crore for upgrading civic infrastructure in the City. In total, the City Municipal Council has received Rs 47 crore from the State government for upgrading civic infrastructure which includes Rs 17 crore for widening B H Road, Rs 20 crore in the budget for developing connecting roads within the City and additional grant of Rs 10.75 crore.
Briefing media persons in the City, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said that works related to upgrading civic infrastructure will be implemented at brisk pace.
Regarding demand for a swimming pool in the City, DyCM said that a swimming pool should come up at the heart of the City. District administration has been instructed to identify suitable place for the purpose. DyCM also expressed dissatisfaction about snail’s pace in implementing the work related to drainage and drinking water. “Tender process regarding construction of a railway overbridge in Honnali road has been completed and actual work will begin by the end of this month,” he informed.
Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar and Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Bore Gowda were present with the DyCM.
