Inner reservation to ensure justice

State Government is committed for providing inner reservation among Dalits and Backward Class which will ensure social justice, said Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
Speaking after inaugurating Swabhimani Samavesha, convention to mark birth anniversary of Dalit leader late Prof B Krishnappa in the City on Saturday he said that modalities regarding inner reservation will be chalked out at the earliest.
Struggle for social equality launched by Dr B R Ambedkar was carried forward by leaders like Babu Jagjeevanram and Prof B Krishnappa. DyCM also assured of financial assistance from State government for constructing a commemorative in Harihar taluk where Prof Krishnappa was cremated. Expressing regrets about prevailing social inequality, DyCM termed practices like casteism and untouchability as inhuman.
Rs 2,000 crore was earmarked for upliftment of oppressed communities in 2006-07 budget, while the amount has been doubled in this year’s budget. Officials from Social Welfare Department have been instructed to ensure efficient utilisation of funds released.
Government is contemplating of beginning 210 new hostels for the benefit of students hailing from Dalit, Backward Class and Minority communities in the coming academic year. DyCM called upon the Dalits to inculcate leadership qualities and entrepreneur spirit.Dalita Vimochana Sene had organised this  programme.
