Eerna thigaleda katta...

Fed up with the pathetic condition of Shiradi ghat road, the road users and vehicle drivers curse the District-in-Charge Minister whenever they use the road. In fact, they say ... “undu eerna thigaleda katta...,” Mr Nagaraj Shetty told the meet in a lighter vein.

ZP busy digging borewells   in monsoon...

Irked by ZP Engineer’s report that the department has been digging 5 borewells a day (in monsoon), the Minister sought to know why the department could not dig borewells when there was severe shortage of drinking water supply. “You must be having some ulterior motives...,” the Minister quipped.

3 AEEs sent out

When the three PWD AEEs failed to give satisfactory answer to queries on the progress of their departmental works, Mr Shetty asked them to come prepare by evening. Left with no choice, they left the venue.
MCC not aware of ADB work progress
When the Minister sought to know the progress of drinking water and drainage work being undertaken by the Kudcemp, the MCC Executive Engineer said that he was not aware. Irked by his answer, Mr Shetty shot back: “Do you sign the cheques (for payment) blindly...?”

Stop monologue...

To a query, MCC Commissioner went on speaking without giving a pause. In between, Mr Meena asked MCC Commissioner to stop and asked MUDA Commissioner to speak. However, the MCC Commissioner continued to speak and MUDA Commissioner’s reply was not audible.
Irked over MCC Commissioner’s ‘non-stop speak,’ Mr Meena told him: “Please stop your monologue and listen to others when they speak.”

Mescom waiting for RFO’s retirement...

Though the Mescom has taken up the substation works at Vagga and Kukkipady, the work on Nelyadi was not taken up. When queried, Mescom MD promptly replied: “Many a trees have to be cut to set up the substation at Nelyadi and the RFO there was not allowing. Hence, we are waiting for his retirement...” Apparently, the RFO is retiring soon.

Work delayed due to Rajasthan bundh!

Replying to a query, a KPTCL official said that one of the parts of transformers could not be availed as there was some law and order problem in Rajasthan!
Apparently, the part is manufactured in Rajasthan and it could not be procured as some problem was going on in the said area in Rajasthan.

Issue notice to absentees...

During the meet, Mr Meena learnt that many officials did not turn up for the review meet. Immediately, he directed the DC and ZP CEO to issue notices to those who did not turn up for the meet.

When are you retiring?

Before the review of Education Department came up for discussion, two officials had told the meet that they will be retiring soon. Hence, the Minister asked DDPI even before he started to speak when he is going to retire? “Please complete the works before you retire,” he told Mr Shankarappa!

Which cycles Khader distributed

One of the officials brought to the notice of the meet that newly elected MLA U T Khader had distributed bi-cycles to students in two schools in Ullal limits. Hence, Mr Nagaraj Shetty directed the DDPI to find out which bi-cycles were distributed by Mr Khader.

Bring photographs of works as proof

At one point, Mr Meena directed the officials to get the photographs of works done - as proof, to the meet.

No order, no loan  at 4 pc

Though the State government had issued order to all co-operative banks to disburse loans at 4 per cent interest to fishermen, the SCDCC Bank in the district has not been issuing the same. “We have not received any order from the government,” SCDCC DGM told the meet.
