Agatha Cristie’s popular crime fiction is now available in the form of graphic novels. Titles include ‘Murder In Mesopotamia’, ‘Death on the Nile’ and ‘The Man in the Brown Suit’
“The children might like it better to read Agatha Christie in the form of graphic novels. However, I feel that there is a lot of scope for imagination when one reads the original”, observes Deena.
The graphic versions of Agatha Christie’s works have hit the bookstands a few days ago. It is a publication of Euro Books, a division of Eurokids International and is priced at Rs 199.
One can also find a compilation of Agatha’s three works in one titled Crime Collection, Crime Thrillers and Crime Dossier.
“Graphic novels might become a hit among the children. Since I am not sure how these might perform in the market, I have not stocked them. Moreover, I feel that graphic novels can never substitute an original Agatha Christie. However, since graphics is a fad among the children these days, the concept might click as well.
The essence of an unabridged ‘Murder at the Vicarage’ can never be effectively translated in a comic book”, observes Shanbhag of The Premier.
Blossoms, Page Turners, The Bookshop do not have any of the graphic versions of Agatha yet. These graphic novels are not that popular among the kids at the moment, as they have not been publicised much.
