Cultural festival at IFFCO
Indian farmers fertilisers cooperative (IFFCO), globally acclaimed as the largest producer and seller of fertilisers is organising the seventh inter unit cultural festival (IUCF) between June 1 and 7 at Jnana Jyothi auditorium, near Bangalore university campus.
The festival is organised every alternate year since 1997 at Kalol, Kandla, Phulpur, Aonala and New Delhi.Over 400 amateur artists belonging to IFFCO family will exhibit their talent during the festival. Speaking on the occasion, D K Bhatt, marketing director and chairman, organising committee, said that the festival is being dedicated to the 150th year of India’ s first freedom struggle.
The vice-chairman N P Patel of IFFCO wil grace the occasion as the chief guest on June 1 while Dr U S Awasthi, managing director will be chief guest at the closing ceremony on June 7.
Highlights :
nThe Anandothasava Mela will be held at the Aonala unit at 4 pm.
nGanga Ki Lahiri will be performed by the Phulpur unit at 6 pm on June 5. There will be the prize distribution on June 6.
Talent promotion
The Bangalore Gayana Samaja will conduct a talent promotion youth festival from July 2 - 8 with a view to nurture promising young talent. This will provide an opportunity to young and aspiring artists to perform on the Samaja’s platform. Two concerts will be held each day. Artists below 25 years of age, who are interested in participating, may send their applications and a cassette/ CD with or without accompaniment (on non-returnable basis) to the Samaja office, K R Road, Basavanagudi, Bangalore-04 at the earliest.
