ART
Water colours

A painting exhibition of symmetry in water colours is organised at the ChitraKala  Parishath between June 1 and 5.
Village on canvas
Magnitude Gallery is organising a painting exhibition titled, ‘Grameen’ featuring the countryside between 10 am and 8 pm. This series of paintings are all vibrant and conversant in their own ways.
Group show
Mahua, the art gallery is hosting a preview of a group show,  ‘Form, Line and colour,’ an exhibition of works of a group of artists at the Leela Galleria on June 1 between 7 pm and 9 pm. 

MUSIC
Music concert
Keshava Samskruthi Sabha is organising a Karnatak Classical music concert by Sukanya Prabhakar on June 2 at 6 pm.
Carnatic concert
Sri Rama Lalitha Kala Mandir and Tirunarayana Trust is organising ‘Udaya Taare’ a  Carnatic classical music festival on June 3 between 5:30 pm and 7:45 pm.
The concert will feature vocalist H S Prashanth who will be accompanied by C N Chandrashekar on the violin and B R Srinivas on the Mridangam.
Classical music
Nithyanada Dhyanapeetam Charitable Trust is organising a music concert known as ‘An Ocean of bliss and music’ at R V Dental College auditorium in J P Nagar on June 3 at 6:30 pm. Free passes will be given away at the venue on first come first serve basis.
Music festival
Nikhila Institute of Music is organising their fifth music festival at Bal Bhavan, cubbon Park on June 3 between  10 am and 5 pm.
Carnatic concert
The valedictory of the ‘Purandarotsava- Bhakti mela’ organised by Bhakti Bharathi Pratishtana will be held on June 3 at 5:30 pm at the Bangalore Gayana Samaja. There will also be a concert by Dr M Balamurali Krishna.

Rangapravesham
The Bharatanatya Rangapravesham of Vrinda Methil will be held at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall on June 3 at 6:30 pm.

DRAMA
Play on violence
The latest offering from Still Waters - "Dust motes from the sunbeam," inspired by a specific event during the conflict in Gujarat, by playwright Vijay Nair, will be staged at Alliance Francaise, on June 1 and 2 at 7.30 pm. The play is the saga of two women - belonging to different communities, different age groups and different economic classes - who are brought together by unusual circumstances.
One is a victim of the mindless violence and the other a patron who offers her sanctuary.
Their common objective is doomed for failure and yet they persist with each other.
The roles are enacted by Sukhita Aiyer and Pooja Hegde, and the play is directed by playwright Vijay Nair and Veena Appiah.
Light Design is by Pradeep Belawadi.

The second international film festival on water  ‘Voices from the water’ will be held at the Gurunanak Bhavan between June 7 and 10. The festival will be between 10 am and 8 pm.
