High Court to hear appeal
Bangalore, dhns: The Karnataka High Court will hear the appeal filed by the lottery operators, challenging the order of the Single Judge Bench which had upheld the decision of the government to ban lotteries in the state. The matter is expected to come up before a Division Bench headed by Justice V Gopal Gowda. A Single Judge Bench of the High Court had upheld the decision of the government. The court had observed that it was a policy decision.
Meanwhile, the court has directed the government and the BBMP to file its objections on a public interest litigation seeking a remedy to the stray dog menace, in Bangalore city. The matter would be heard on June 27.
