Global headset maker GN, on Tuesday, said it will expand its presence in the Indian market to 1,500 stores by the end of this year and focus on BPO industry, office and enterprise segments in the country.
The company, which sells its products — bluetooth mobile headset and other handsfree devices — under the brand name Jabra, has about 1,000 stores in the country at present.
The bluetooth headset market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 74 per cent and reach at over eight million units by 2011 and to one million by the end of this year, GN Regional Managing Director (Middle East, India, Africa) Vincent Pena told reporters here. The professional (contact centre and enterprise) headset market in the country is also likely to grow at a CAGR of 21 per cent over the next five years, he said.
Increasing presence
The company accounts for 25 per cent market share in the professional segment, Mr Pena said, adding that GN has tied up with Innova Telecom and Avaya GlobalConnect for increasing their presence in this space.
It has also tied up with Salora International and Faxtel Systems to consolidate its position in the bluetooth mobile headset market. Salora will cater to the company’s markets in the north and west while Faxtel would look after markets in the south and east.
