Every time I boot my PC (P III with windows XP professional suit), I get the following message -“Gservices.exe - bad Image. The application or DLL:\DOCUME-1.CSM|Local-1\temp\qla.tmp is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. - OK.”

You have not specified anything about the service pack 1/2 is installed or not. If not installed, do so from www.microsoft.com. Your system seems to have a virus so scan it with a proper and upgraded antivirus.
As far as the deleting the file is concerned, try searching and deleting while in safe mode (whi h can be activated by pressing the F8 key before the windows loads) because you might not be able to delete the file in normal mode. You can download Microsoft Antispyware from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=7 upgrade and click on scan the entire system when prompted.
My dektop shows two backgrounds when I start my system, overlapped, one onto the other. I tried everything with display properties in the control by default.

Change the background with plain colour or to the default windows setting in the appearance setting in display properties.
I got a broadband, 3000,256 kbps speed connection from VSNL. for my P4, Windows XP system. While connecting, the primary dns says that the destination net unreachable. I reinstalled the OS, to no avail. I have already installed Norton Internet Security.
