ooVoo
ooVoo allows people to connect one-on-one or with groups, news, ideas or just talk as if they were in the same room together. It is a free, standalone desktop chat application. It has text and video chat capabilities. As many as six people can be included in a video conference, users can drop in and out of conversations, and along with video, users can chat among themselves with their computer’s microphone or a headset. There are volume controls for both speakers and the microphone right in the chat window. ooVoo gives users an option to embed a quick contact button that will automatically launch an ooVoo conversation if installed. ooVoo doubles as a video e-mail service. Users can send each other video messages as long as a minute in length. Users who get the e-mail are also provided a link that takes them to a live flash version of the video, so they can access it while away from their home machine. ooVoo is currently available only for Windows users. Keyboard Jedi
You can train to be a Keyboard Master with Keyboard Jedi. It can help you learn use keyboard shortcuts. These can be used in presentations, screencasts and videos, as well as when working with someone else on the same machine to teach new shortcuts. It shows a visual list of shortcuts as you type them, no matter what application you work in. You can attach “memos” to shortcuts you have pressed — just double click on a list item inside Key Jedi, and you can add a short line to remember what that shortcut does. Press Ctrl-Shift-Alt-F12 when in any application, and KJ will confine the mouse cursor to its own window, as long as that other application is active. This will force you to go “Mouseless” just for that specific application. Press Ctrl-Shift-Alt-F12 again to stop this. Keyboard Jedi Version 1.5 can be downloaded at
