Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has assured of initiatives for rejuvenating Mysore Paper Mills, public sector unit in Bhadravati.
Speaking at a press meet in the City on Tuesday, DyCM informed of visiting MPM along with Minister for Industries during July 1st week.
After studying the situation at MPM and going through other details, Government will consider various alternatives for rejuvenated the PSU which is incurring loss. Initiatives will be taken to bail the company out of red. State Government will waive-off Rs 7.71 crore interest due from MPM which will avoid company from being referred to Board for Industrial Finance and Reconstruction. DyCM announced of taking final decision regarding MPM after holding discussion with employees serving in the PSU. Mr Yediyurappa assured of developing Gopashettykoppakere tank in outskirts of the City into entertainment centre. DyCM also announced of shifting prison in the City and using the place for development works.
Addressing the press meet, Minister for Water Resource K S Eshwarappa informed that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will kickstart work of Bhadra canal modernisation in Davangere on Wednesday. Minister also assured of time bound completion of modernisation work.
Urban Development Authority Chairperson Channabasappa, District incharge Secretary Siddaiah, Deputy Commissioner Anil Kumar, Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Bore Gowda were present.
