Demanding loan at four percent interest for farmers, fishermen and weavers, office-bearers of BJP district unit Kisan Morcha staged a dharna in Chitradurga.
The protesters, condemning the anti-farmer policies of the Union government, demanded that the loan obtained by farmers from the nationalised banks should be waived.
Facilities
Speaking on the occasion, legislator Ramesh said, proper storage facilities in train have to be provided to facilitate easy and safe transportation of crops.  Their demands include withdrawal of sericulture amendment act, loan at low interest for farmers.
BJP district President G B Suresh, Organising secretary Siddesh Yadav, District Kisan Morcha President R Jayaram, General Secretary G B Shivakumar, ST Morcha district President Dasari Kirtikumar, BJP women’s city unit President Manjula led the protest in which the office-bearers from other units also took part.
They urged the  authority concerned to fulfil their  demands as soon as possible.
